Erneut machte mich Toni
Ginsel auf diese neue DVD der Chris Barber's Jazzband aufmerksam. Es dürfte
sich dabei um einen Teil des Konzertmitschitts vom 23. Juni 1982 aus
Derby/England handeln. Leider enthält die DVD keine näheren Angaben
dazu. Im weiteren werden 4 Bonus tracks in schwarz/weiss aufgeführt. Effektiv vorhanden sind nur 3 und es sind die gleichen Stücke wie auf der DVD "Lonnie Donegan - The King of Skiffle" - Der Titel "Nights in New Orleans" ist nicht vorhanden, abgesehen von Fotos aus dem Barbervideo, hinterlegt mit Musik einer unbekannte Band! Schade, anstelle dieser schlechten schwarz/weiss Kopien hätte man besser das ganze Konzert von Derby auf die DVD gepresst. Andreas Wandfluh, 16.4.2005

Ginsel informed me of the release of that new DVD. According to my "archive"
it must be a part of the concert of Chris Barber's Jazzband in Derby/England,
dated 23.6.1982. However, there are no further information on the DVD. The sound and picutre quality of the Derby concert is very good. Unfortunately, the DVD does not contain all titles that have been issued earlier in the eighties on Laserdisc (BBC Laserdisc BBCV3018L). According to my "archive" the titles "When you wore a tulip" and "Mack the knife" are not included on that DVD. Furthermore, the DVD indicates
4 bonus tracks in black and white. In fact there are only 3 titles on the DVD
and they are exactly the same titles as on the Lonnie Donegan - King of
Skiffle DVD (check it on my CD/DVD site). The fourth title, "Nights in
New Orleans" is not on the DVD, besides picutres of the band members of
1982 - with background music of an unknown band! |
